Money saving tips: Kids eat free after 4 PM with purchase of a kid’s drink. Some of the local discount cards the schools sell feature a small discount for Griff’s. Opt for water.
Worth noting: They are open 7 days a week. There is a kid’s (little spuds) menu and, as noted above, they eat free with purchase of a drink after 4 PM. Catering is available. The restaurant is decorated with an airplane theme.
Before starting this little blog and intentionally seeking out new restaurants around town, Griff’s was a common meeting place for the girlfriends and I for lunch. They’ve got a great variety – no matter what you’re in the mood for – soup, salad, sandwich, wrap, baked potato – they’ve got you covered.
This is probably one of my favorite lunch spots in town! I’ve been meaning to get back for quite some time to snap some pics. It finally happened!
Here’s what you need to know about Griff’s. As you enter, head to the left. A giant menu hangs on the wall. Choosing isn’t easy! I’ve had a few different sides, a couple different paninis, at least two different salads, a baked potato, and soup. They have ALL been good – pick according to your mood! Side note: if you are sensitive to or dislike spicy foods, avoid the spicier menu items as they pack a fair (and good) amount of heat.
After placing your order at the counter, you’ll take your number and your cup over to the beverage station and to find a seat. If it’s lunchtime, it’s likely going to be crowded. We saw several people standing and waiting for a table to empty. If it’s warm enough, there is a little bit of outdoor seating.
Your food will be delivered to your table. You are, however, responsible for clearing your dishes.
I opted for a Southern Salad (mixed greens topped with a generous portion of Griff’s chicken salad, dried cranberries, sliced apples, and pecans, served with a side of Griff’s vinaigrette). I’m picky when it comes to chicken salad and this one ranks high on my list. This is a great salad to pick when you want to eat healthy but need something filling. The summer salad is another one I order often.
Griff’s is a great place for grabbing lunch with a friend/co-worker, a lunch date with the husband, and dinner with the family. Its family friendly with lots of healthy options on the menu (note to moms: there are not chicken nuggets on the menu).
Take some time to explore the menu at Griff’s – you won’t be disappointed!
